FABRICATION METHOD OF MICRO GROOVE ON A ROLL SURFACE USING LASER

PURPOSE: A method of forming fine grooves on the surface of a roll using laser is provided to reduce the roughness of a surface since fine grooves are formed by the scanning of parallel laser beam. CONSTITUTION: A method of forming fine grooves on the surface of a roll using laser comprises next steps. A roll(20) to be processed is maintained in a non-operating state. Focused parallel laser beam scans the surface of the roll to form fine grooves by a laser ablation process. The roll is rotated. At the step of forming fine grooves, a depth section maintaining the beam spot of a given range in the radiating direction of a laser beam is set, the laser beam in the depth section sets an area meeting with the circumferential surface of the roll as a possible area(40) and the focused parallel laser beam in the possible area is scanned.
