PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an elevator capable of early self-diagnosing a failure of an external signal input part. SOLUTION: The control device includes a buffer for inputting an external signal, a programmable logic device for storing data corresponding to the external signal outputted from the buffer, and a central processing unit for controlling the elevator based on the data read from the programmable logic device. The central processing unit is constituted for diagnosing the soundness of the buffer based on the data stored in the programmable logic device according to a diagnostic signal by outputting the diagnostic signal by interrupting an output of the external signal to the buffer in optional timing.
