<p>The method for coating and/or post-processing a workpiece (1), comprises partially applying a layer (3) by arc deposition on an outer side (2) of the workpiece, and treating the workpiece coated with the layer in the area of the applied layer by an ultrasonic-cavitation treatment. The layer developed by the arc deposition is formed as wear protective layer. The ultrasonic-cavitation treatment is carried out so that shock waves are produced in the applied layer. The ultrasonic-cavitation treatment is carried out so that the melting spritzer deposited partially in the layer is removed.
