<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can immediately select keys having a low frequency of use by a user without impairing the usability and without confusion when necessary. <P>SOLUTION: After login (ST2), if there is an operation of the key displayed on an operation panel 6 (ST4), the number n of times of operation of the key is counted (ST5). When the number m of times of login is larger than m1 (threshold) (ST7): if the determination of n>n2 (threshold) (ST8) is YES, the display format of the key is returned to an initial display (ST12); if NO and the determination of n1<n≤n2 (ST9) is YES, the display format of the key is changed to a format corresponding to the operation frequency of "middle" (ST10); and if NO, a selection screen of display/non-display of the key is displayed (ST11). When the determination is completed for all the keys (ST14) after making n=0 (ST13), m is set to be zero (ST15) and then it is waited for the next login.
