摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for earthquake-resistant design capable of improving the accuracy of calculating a breakdown probability by improving the accuracies of a response and strength in a probabilistic design method. SOLUTION: This method for earthquake-resistant design of a building belonging to a building group specified by member standards or structural characteristics includes: a step of analyzing the correlation between a response and an average acceleration response spectrum which is the average value of the acceleration response spectra of a ground surface in a periodic band from k<SB>1</SB>.T<SB>1</SB>to k<SB>2</SB>.T<SB>1</SB>where the elastic primary own natural period of the building is T<SB>1</SB>; a step of acquiring k<SB>1</SB>and k<SB>2</SB>which specify a periodic band in which the correlation between the response and the average acceleration response spectrum is maximum; a step of acquiring the relationship between the average acceleration response spectrum in the periodic band in which the correlation is maximum and the response, as a probability variable corresponding to the average acceleration response spectrum; a step of acquiring, as a probability variable, the response in the average acceleration response spectrum of an expected earthquake motion; a step of acquiring the strength of the building; a step of acquiring the strength of the building as a probability variable corresponding to the structural index; and a step of comparing the response and the strength and confirming that the difference therebetween is equal to or less than an allowable value.
