<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an inkjet recording pigment aqueous dispersion having excellent shelf stability and print density, to provide the inkjet recording pigment aqueous dispersion and to provide aqueous ink. <P>SOLUTION: [1] The method for producing the inkjet recording pigment aqueous dispersion includes a step (I) of subjecting a mixture containing a pigment, a water-soluble polymer (x) having a salt-forming group, a water-insoluble polymer (y) having a salt-forming group, an organic solvent, a neutralizing agent and water to dispersion treatment to obtain a pigment dispersion, a step (II) of removing the organic solvent from the obtained pigment dispersion to obtain the aqueous dispersion of polymer particles having 25 to 60 mol% average neutralization degree of salt-forming groups of the total polymers by the neutralizing agent and containing the pigment and a step (III) of adding a neutralizing agent to the obtained aqueous dispersion to obtain the pigment aqueous dispersion.
