PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic functional material having excellent photocatalytic activity as well as excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: Provided is glass which contains, on a basis of mol%, a P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>component by 10 to 60%, a TiO<SB>2</SB>component by 15 to 80%, and an Rn<SB>2</SB>O and/or RO component by 1 to 50% (where Rn represents at least one element selected from Li, Na and K, and R represents at least one element selected from Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and Zn), has an average coefficient of linear expansion of not more than 50×10<SP>-7</SP>/K in the temperature range from -30°C to 70°C, and crystallizes a crystal phase having photocatalytic activity by heat treatment. Provided is glass ceramics obtained by heat treating the glass, wherein an average coefficient of linear expansion at -30°C to 70°C is≤40×10<SP>-7</SP>/K. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
