Edge sealing of photovoltaic modules

The method involves providing photo voltaic-modules by application of photo voltaic-laminates (1) on a carrier (8) i.e. plastic sealing sheet. The modules are pre-treated along an edge area of the laminates using plasma treatment/gas flame impingement so that the edge area and the carrier are detected by the plasma treatment. A sealing mass (9) is applied on a pre-treated locations and provided as a two component silicone composition e.g. Sikasil(RTM: Neutral curing silicone adhesive) AS-70, or composition that is provided on the basis of silane-treated poly(meth) acrylate.
