Cracking process

Process for cracking a paraffinic hydrocarbon feed which process comprises (a) contacting the feed with cracking catalyst at elevated temperature,
(b) separating the mixture obtained in step (a) to obtain spent catalyst and hydrocarbon product,
(c) contacting the separated catalyst with an oxygen-containing gas to obtain regenerated catalyst, and
(d) using at least part of the regenerated catalyst as cracking catalyst in step (a), in which process the oxygen-contaning gas comprises at most 30 %vol of nitrogen and of from 22 to 32 %vol of oxygen.
