[Also in Division F2] A nut comprises a threaded barrel 2 and a flange 3 at one end, the flange being formed with integral cutters 4 at its outer periphery facing towards the barrel, so that when the barrel is inserted into an aperture in a support formed of, e.g., wood, rotation of the cutters will cut a recess to receive the flange. The flange 3 also has holes 5 for a spanner, the holes also providing cutting edges intermediate the barrel and the edge. In Figs. 5 and 7 (not shown ), cutters (11) are disposed between the outer periphery of the flange (3) and the barrel (2).
