PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for providing a list in a portable terminal are provided to rapidly and conveniently manage a list by using a popup function. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal focuses a specific object within a list(103), and performs parsing of the focused specific object(105). The portable terminal extracts the output information of the specific object(107), and outputs the output information to a popup window(109). If there is a function execution request, the portable terminal executes a function corresponding to the request of the user(111,113). If there is not focusing movement of the object, the portable terminal executes the requested function(115,117).
