<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which can reduce coloring in an oblique direction on black display, without using an Rth held by a coloring layer, and to provide a method of manufacturing the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter has a plurality of coloring layers 4 wherein a difference ΔY between an actually measured oblique luminance and a theoretical oblique luminance shown by an expression (1) are nearly the same. In the expression (1), Color-Y(Oblique) is a surface luminance when the coloring layers are disposed between two polarizing plates and absorption axes of the two polarizing plates cross each other at an angle of 106°, Color-Y(Cross) is a surface luminance when the coloring layers are disposed between the two polarizing plates and the absorption axes of the two polarizing plates cross each other at an angle of 90°, Pol-Y(Oblique) is a surface luminance when the absorption axes of the two polarizing plates cross each other at an angle of 106°, and Pol-Y(Cross) is a surface luminance when the absorption axes of the two polarizing plates cross each other at an angle of 90°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
