Water for heating and for consumption is heated in separate chambers 3, 4 by hollow porous, ceramic gas radiators 11, 10, the chambers being separated by a heat conducting partition 2 so that varying heat requirements are compensated for by heat conduction through the partition. Each chamber is provided with water inlet and outlet pipes and the burners are supplied with combustible gas-air mixture by a fan 12, the products of combustion passing through helical tubes 11a to a common outlet 13. The heat conducting partition 2 is corrugated. In a modification the partition is S-shaped in plan and the roof of the heater ascends towards one corner where the hot water removal pipes are situated. The apparatus may be designed for suspension from a wall.</p> |
