The arrangement has cells switched in series, and over-current protection devices (USS1-USS3, USS1'-USS3') are provided between module connector poles in energy flow direction for direct current output. Switch devices (S1-S3) e.g. mechanical switch, electro-mechanical or an electronic switch, are provided between the protection devices, in a Z-switch, and forms a bypass to activate the protection devices lying in flow direction of short circuit current during activation drop of the protection devices. The switch device is operated by a remote control unit.
