The device has a transmitter (5) provided with a microphone, and a receiver (4) provided with a loudspeaker. The transmitter and the receiver are designed for processing and/or rendition of voice signals for contact between a pet owner i.e. dog owner (2), and a domestic animal i.e. dog (1). The receiver is provided with a retention unit for attachment in proximity of an ear of the animal. The receiver is impermeable for water and humidity. An independent claim is also included for a method for establishment of contact and/or for contact holding between a pet owner and animal.
