摘要 The invention relates to metal, hard metal, cermet or ceramic coated bodies which are coated with a single or a multi-layered layer system containing at least one Al-based hard material layer, and to a method for coating said type of bodies. The aim of the invention is to produce Al-based hard material layers for said type of bodies, said layer being characterised by their high resistance to oxidation, being very hard and having an improved resistance to wear compared to traditional Al-based hard material layers. According to the invention, the bodies are coated with one or more Al-based hard material layers made of at least aluminium oxide and/or AI2-xCrxO3 wherein x = 0,0001 - 1 and one or more metal carbides of elements Cr, Zr, V, Nb and can contain other metal oxides of the elements Zr, V, Nb. Said bodies are coated at temperatures of between 700°C and 1050°C by means of a thermal CVD-process. The gas mixture used comprises carbon-containing compounds, oxygen-containing compounds, hydrogen and/or inert gases, said gas mixture containing, as a metal precursor, one or more ternary aluminium metal chlorides AlaM1bClc wherein one of the metals M1 = Cr, Zr, V and Nb and a = 1, 2 or 3, b = 1 and c = 6, 7, 8, 10 or 12 and which can be added to the aluminium halogenide. A sublimed aluminium trichloride for producing the ternary aluminium metal chloride AlaM1bClc is guided to a second metal chloride at a temperature of between 150 °C - 600°C. Said claimed Al-based hard material layer can be used, in particular as a wear-resistant layer on Si3N4- and WC/Co-indexable inserts and steel components.
