The valve (100) has a closing member (23) pressed against a valve seat (22) limiting a passage (16) in an energized state of a magnetic coil (42) by a compression spring (45). A movement of the closing member is delayable toward the seat by a damping device that has a damping chamber (32). The chamber is formed as a recess (33) between a guiding element (12) and an armature (25), and connected with a low-pressure area (8) by a connection. The connection takes place via a radially circulating throttle gap (37) formed between the guiding element and a facing front surface (36) of the armature.
