发明名称 Improvements in and relating to carburettors
摘要 1,097,758. Spray carburetters. REGENTS OF UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA. Feb. 8, 1965 [Feb. 19, 1964], No. 5389/65. Heading F1B. A carburetter comprises a mixing chamber in which the entering air is set into rotation by inclined vanes 104, the fuel being injected into the air through a nozzle 64. The mixing chamber 32 is heated by exhaust gases which enter at 94 and flow through a jacket 92 and through orifices 100 to mix with the air flowing towards the inlet end 44 of the mixing chamber 32. The fuel in nozzle 64 is atomized by pressurized air fed by a pump 81 to chamber 76, the pressurized air also being fed through a pressure control valve 150 to the float chamber 65. A needle valve 70 - the fuel nozzle is controlled in accordance with the position of throttle valve 86, the throttle valve operating means (168) Fig. 2 (not shown), having a resilient lost motion device (174) which during acceleration delays the throttle movement slightly to enrich the mixture. A flap 110 controlling the flow to the exhaust jacket 92 is also actuated from the throttle control linkage and is arranged to be closed at idling and high power. The valve 150 is controlled by intake manifold suction acting upon diaphragm 144, whereby the pressure in chamber 65 is a maximum at high power and is reduced as the intake manifold suction increases. A throttle 183 in the pipe 138 leading to the intake manifold delays the effect of suction on the diaphragm 144 and hence enriches the mixture during acceleration and makes it leaner during retardation. A pressure switch 184 also operates a solenoid 120 to close a fuel shut-off valve 116 during over-running. A by-pass valve 186 is energized from the starter motor circuit 188 to supply fuel directly from the fuel supply pipe 126 to the nozzle at starting. Crankcase gases may be fed to the mixing chamber through inlet 190. In a modification, Fig.6 (not shown) the atomizing air pump is omitted and the fuel atomized by feeding to chamber 76 vapour from a portion of the fuel passed through an exhaust heated vapourizer 214. In a further modification Fig. 7 (not shown), the atomizing air pipe 80 is connected to the carburetter air intake and the throttle valve 86 is situated upstream of the mixing chamber so that the atomizing air is drawn in by the suction in the mixing chamber.
