The present invention provides in one aspect a side-light guide (10) having a naked core (20) of transparent polymeric material without a cladding. The side-light guide has a first surface (30) defining a light emitting surface extending longitudinally along the side-light guide and a second surface (24) having light-extraction elements (32) extending longitudinally along the side-light guide and the second surface is arranged generally opposite to the first surface, the side-light guide has a generally circular cross-section comprising cut away regions (40) at opposing sides defining on each opposite side at least one planar surface (44) tapering inwardly from the first towards the second surface.
Further provided is a light device (100) comprising the side-light guide. |
