<p>The invention relates to a capacitive desalting module with carbonic xerogel electrodes for removing ions or ionic impurities from water or liquid effluents. According to the invention, the module comprises six cells consisting of some pairs of equally spaced parallel electrodes (1) separated by an insulating medium (2), each electrode being made of a single plate of carbonic xerogel conductive composite material of high specific surface and ion-absorption capacity, the supply being made by some collectors (3), by means of a DC stabilized voltage source (4), the ions in the electrolyte which flows continuously through the channel defined by the polarized electrode pairs being retained at the level of the double electric layer created at the interface of the polarized electrodes and, when saturation is reached, the module is regenerated by reversing electrode polarization.</p> |
