<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double lock type door lock device for a vehicle, without impairing operational feeling of a mechanical operating member (an inside door handle or a lock knob) capable of moving an active lever from a locking position to an unlocking position, and smoothly achieving switching to an unlocking state even in the case of panic state. <P>SOLUTION: This door lock device Ao for a vehicle includes: a latch mechanism A1; an inside open lever 32 operated when the inside door handle is operated to open a door; an open link 33 operable linking with the lever; a locking mechanism A3 for switching the position thereof; and a double lock mechanism A4 for regulating or allowing the operation thereof. The lock mechanism A3 includes the active lever 41, a panic lever 43, a stopper 41b and a torsion spring 44 (an energizing member).
