<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head which cancels an offset caused by an objective lens shift by using a light-detecting element having a light-receiving face pattern of simple composition, and also to provide an optical disk device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical head is equipped with: a light-detecting element 27, which includes a main light-receiving part 270 and a supplementary light-receiving part 271; and an optical element 6. The optical element 6 receives a return light beam from an optical disk 5 both in a diffraction area 601 and in a diffraction area 602, and subjects the beam to transmission and diffraction to generate a 0-order diffracted light beam D0 and ±one order diffracted light beams D1a, D1b. The diffraction area 601 generates the -one order diffracted light beam D1a, and the diffraction area 602 generates the +one order diffracted light beam D1b.
