PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device suppressing steering wheel return input from a road surface, suppressing kick back, reducing load applied to a driver, and securing excellent steering feeling even in traveling on a bad road. SOLUTION: The responsiveness of a steering assist command value of an assist control means detecting the wheel speed of a vehicle body, determining the bad road from the magnitude of the difference between the right and left wheel speed, and deciding a motor current value excited in an electric motor based on the assist characteristic is enhanced, and the assist characteristic is enhanced so as to cancel the input torque generated by the kick back.
