Razor blade coating system and method of forming a lubricating coating on a razor blade (38) comprising: (a) providing a razor blade (38) at a predetermined temperature (T), (b) providing a tank (12) of an colloidal dispersion (14) of a polymer, (c) providing a spray gun (22) in fluid communication with the tank (12), (f) controlling a first gas stream to nebulize the colloidal dispersion (14) into a mist (24), (g) independently controlling a second gas stream to form the mist (24), independently from step (f), (h) transporting the mist (24) to the razor blade (38), and (i) sintering the polymer applied onto the razor blade (38).
