<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a roller made of an elastic body from being damaged in a secondary transfer section or a fixing section when an extremely thick paper sheet such as ≥0.4 mm is used. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary transfer section 5 includes a belt driving roller 10 and a secondary transfer roller 11. An image is transferred to paper sheet P pinched by the rollers 10, 11. When the thickness of the paper sheet P is extremely thick such as ≥0.4 mm, the paper sheet P enters the belt driving roller 10 after retreating the secondary transfer roller 11 and moving the secondary transfer roller 11 forward after a leading edge of the paper sheet P enters between the rollers 10, 11. The rubber layer 11b of the secondary transfer roller 11 is prevented from being damaged by an edge E of the paper sheet P, while preventing a transfer failure due to a recess remaining on the rubber layer 11b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
