PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for the transaction management of IPTV are provided to use MXM as a base for IPTV and to control the transaction of an entity which uses an MSM transaction. CONSTITUTION: A transaction with an obje entity ct is set up within a network(S210). A request message is transmitted to an entity(S220). A return message corresponding to a request message is received from the object(S230). A transaction control message controlling transaction is transmitted to an entity(S240). A transaction control reply message is received from the entity(S250). The contents transfer control message controlling the content electrical transmission is transmitted to the entity(S260).
