The invention relates a proteomic signature formed by a collection of early gene biomarkers for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and/or steatosis. Said gene biomarkers can be used in methods for diagnosing NASH and/or steatosis, more specifically for early diagnosis of NASH and/or steatosis, as well as in methods for determining the predisposition of a subject to develop NASH and/or steatosis, and for monitoring the effect of the therapy administered to said subject with said conditions.
