DEVICE FOR INTRAMEDULLARY OSTEOSYNTHESIS IN MULTIFRAGMENT DIAPHYSEAL FRACTURES OF LONG BONES

A device for intramedullary osteosynthesis in multifragment diaphyseal fractures of the long bones contains the scissor-like mechanism for eliminating the interposition of the soft tissues and small bone fragments. The latter mechanism contains the flexible hollow jacket and the scissors. One blade of the scissors is attached to the flexible hollow jacket. The other blade is connected to the internal tie-rod inserted into the flexible hollow jacket with the recoil spring fixed at the opposite end of the tie-rod. The diameter of the flexible hollow jacket with the scissors is less than the internal diameter of the hollow tube of the guide.
