PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting detecting device of a lifting body capable of suspending a drive chain in a lift capable of instantly detecting even the cut of any suspending drive chain by a few cutting detecting sensor when fixing both ends of the suspending drive chain tensioned between sprocket wheels opposed to an upper part and a lower part of a lifting body to an upper surface and a lower surface of the lifting body. SOLUTION: This lift is constituted by arranging the lifting body E so as to be liftable by the suspending drive chain 2 of left-right lifting support devices A1 and A2 with a mast as a guide. One end of the suspending drive chain 2 parallel with two strips tensioned between the sprocket wheels 1 opposed to the upper part and the lower part of the lifting body E is fixed to the upper surface of the lifting body E via a balance mechanism B, and the other end of the suspending drive chain 2 is fixed to the lower surface of the lifting body E, and a cutting detecting mechanism 8 is arranged therein.
