PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a user cannot easily recognize which paper-feeding part is selected in an image reading apparatus which has a plurality of paper feeding parts. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus includes: the plurality of paper feeding parts which have paper feeding members for feeding paper to documents; a selection means for selecting the paper feeding part which is used for paper feeding from among the plurality of paper feeding parts; and an operation means for operating the paper feeding member provided to the selected paper feeding part according to selection of the paper feeding part by the selection means. When the user selects the paper feeding part, the paper feeding part operates in response to the selection, thus, the user can easily recognize the selected paper feeding part.
