PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fixing performance and glossiness performance, and to achieve a means for manually/automatically switching the two performances without influences on an FPT and a throughput. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a heat generation heater; a heater holder which holds the heat generation heater; an endless fixing film which rotates at the outside of the heat generation heater and the heater holder; a pressure roller whose outer periphery comes in contact with the endless fixing film; a heater pressurizing means which pressurizes the heat generation heater and the endless fixing film toward the pressure roller direction through the heater holder to form a nip between the endless fixing film and the pressure roller; an additional pressure member arranged downstream of the heat generation heater in the rotating direction of the endless fixing film, and also arranged at the inner peripheral side of the endless pressure film; and an biasing means which biases the additional pressure member, and which is independent from the heater pressurizing means.
