PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking device capable of reducing thickness of a mechanical key further. SOLUTION: In this locking device, an operation body 10 provided to displace relatively for a case 7 includes tumblers 21, 22 for restraining relative displacement of the operation body 10 for the case 7. The tumblers 21, 22 are supported to rotate centered on a rotary shaft 14 in a tumbler storage part 12 of the operation body 10 and are provided with check parts 21a, 22a engaging with a key plate inserted into a key hole 11 and displacing in the directions of insertion and pulling-out to rotate the tumblers 21, 22 centered on the rotary shaft 14. The tumblers 21, 22 are also provided with engaging parts 21b, 21c, 22b for engaging the operation body 10 and the case 7 mutually in accordance with an angle of rotation centered on the rotary shaft 14 of the tumblers 21, 22.
