PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dead bolt structure, configured so that a protruding and retreating adjustment mechanism for a dead bolt can be compactly constituted, and a lock box can be reduced in height and thickness. SOLUTION: The dead bolt structure includes: the dead bolt 17 which is constituted by mutually connecting side plates 19 by a bottom plate 25 so that a section parallel to a butt end of a door is substantially U-shaped, and is slidably stored in the lock box 11 provided within the door; a drive arm 43 which is provided protrusively outside in the radial direction of a bell crank shaft 35 regulated in rotation at an angle smaller than 180° in a rockable manner, and is rocked with a rocking end thereof being engaged with the dead bolt 17 to protrude and retract the dead bolt 17; and a biasing means 37 which is housed between both the side plates 19 in a compressible manner with its lower end abutting on the bottom plate 25 and its upper end abutting on the rocking end, and presses the rocking end by the repelling force of compression.
