DIAGONAL ROPE VIBRATION REDUCTION DEVICE

A vibration reduction device for a stayed cable comprises a rigid connection rod (5') used for transferring a vibration displacement from an inner plane and an outer plane of a stayed cable (1') to a rotation lever (7'). One end of the rotation lever (7') is connected to a lever support saddle (6') by a longitudinal connecting piece (14'), the other end thereof is connected to a mass block (8') and a damper (9'), and the rotation lever (7') can rotate around the lever support saddle (6') up and down and rotate around a central axis itself. The vibration displacement is transferred to the rotation lever (7') via the rigid connection rod (5') when the inner or outer plane of the stayed cable (1') is vibrating, the vibration displacement drives the rotation lever (7'), the mass block (8') and the damper (9') to rotate up and down or around the central axis of the rotation lever (7') so as to supply an inertia force, an elastic force, and a damping force. While the outer plane of the cable is vibrating even, a rotating frictional resistance and a viscous force are caused by a friction ring and a high-damping rubber material provided between the lever support saddle (6') and the longitudinal connecting piece (14') and are enlarged by the rotation lever (7') and transferred to the stayed cable (1') via the rigid connection rod (5') so as to change modal mass, rigidity and damping of the stayed cable, thus reducing the vibration of the stayed cable plane. The device is convenient to assemble and maintain.
