The mechanism (20) has a diaphragm spring (26) supported by a clutch cover (22) for pushing a pressure plate (25) in a direction of a flywheel (21). The clutch cover includes a contact point at which the clutch cover receives a bending moment. The bending moment acts in the direction of the flywheel due to centrifugal force generated by rotation of the flywheel. A balance weight (23) i.e. annular element, is provided on the clutch cover at a side of a vertical axis opposite to the flywheel, where the vertical axis is passed through the contact point.
