PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type continuously variable transmission which can reduce manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The belt type continuously variable transmission 1 includes a transmission shaft 40, an output pulley 50 having a fixed sheave 51 fixed on the transmission shaft 40 and a movable sheave 52 which is supported slidably in the axial direction and is not relatively rotatable, an output shaft 60 on the same axis with the transmission shaft 40, a cam mechanism 80 which is disposed between the movable sheave 52 and the output shaft 60, can transmit a torque between the moveable sheave 52 and the output shaft 60, and gives a pressing force in the axial direction according to the torque to the movable sheave 52, and a spring 70 which energizes the movable sheave 52 to the fixed sheave 51 side. The output shaft 60 has a double cylindrical structure comprising an inner cylindrical part 62 and an outer cylindrical part 61 surrounding the inner cylindrical part 62. One side of the transmission shaft 40 is inserted inside the inner cylindrical part 62 and supported rotatably and the spring 70 is inserted between the outer cylindrical part 61 and the inner cylindrical part 62 and supported telescopically in the axial direction.
