PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic atomization apparatus for discharging a large amount of ultrafine mist of a nanosize from an air conditioner, an air cleaner or a humidifier or the like and demonstrating the effects of deodorization, sterilization and freshness keeping, etc., inside a room and inside a compartment in order to improve an indoor environment or an environment inside the compartment. SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomization apparatus includes a water supply means 3 for housing an aqueous solution in which metal nanocolloid is mixed, a porous molding (2) formed by projecting discharge pin members (12) on a porous water retaining material (11), and a DC power source (4) for negatively charging the porous molding (2) by connecting a negative pole (5) to the porous molding (2), sucks the aqueous solution in which the metal nanocolloid is mixed from the water supply means 3 and discharges the mist in which the metal nanocolloid is mixed from the discharge pin members (12).
