摘要 <p>A composite luminous vessel container 3 has a hollow and polycrystalline alumina capillary 1 and one or more transparent disk(s) 2 of monocrystalline alumina. The polycrystalline alumina luminous container member 3 functions as a luminous part for a high intensity discharge lamp. Light is emitted from the inside of the polycrystalline alumina luminous member 3 and radiated through the transparent monocrystalline alumina disk to the outside. The light emitted through the transparent window has a low loss due to the scattering so that the lamp efficiency can be improved. In the case of the light emitted through the transparent monocrystalline alumina, the size of the light source is substantially equal to the distance between the electrodes, so that the light source can be utilized as a point light source. The light emitted from the point light source can be subjected to optical control by combination with reflectors or lenses. The light source can be applied to general light source, as well as a headlight for an automobile and a luminous container (burner) for a projector lamp.</p>
