A light source (10) for use with projection equipment, the light source comprising at least one light emitting element (12) arranged to be switched on and off and a digital regulator (11) connected to the light emitting element. In one embodiment the digital regulator is arranged to store values between each turning on of the light emitting element and the regulator utilizes these values in its calculations.
