<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably close a powder discharge port provided in a powder container body by means of a shutter by moving the powder container body to a position farther than the moving distance of a shutter member that opens and closes the powder discharge port. <P>SOLUTION: The powder supplying device includes: a powder container 32 which is provided with the powder container body 33Y and the shutter member 35, wherein the powder container body is detachably installable in the powder container containing part horizontally and is provided with the discharge port B through which inside powder is discharged outside, and wherein the shutter member opens and closes the discharge port by moving along the container body in a direction in which the powder container is removed; and a shutter regulating member 82 provided at the side of the powder container containing part, wherein the shutter regulating member turns in conjunction with the removal operations of the powder container to thereby allows the shutter member to perform open and close actions.
