<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security when encrypting and utilizing data. <P>SOLUTION: The key information management apparatus 10 is composed of a tamper-resistant apparatus which is excellent in security and is attachable and detachable to/from a PC 5, and stores a memory 16 and a timer 15 etc. The key information management apparatus 10 downloads an encryption key 17 for encrypting data stored in the storage medium 6 of the PC 5 from a management server 20 and tentatively stores it in the memory 16. The timer 15 deletes the tentatively stored encryption key 17 in the stage that there is no access from a user to the key information management apparatus 10 for a fixed period of time. In the stage that the encryption key 17 is deleted, it becomes impossible to decrypt the data stored by the PC 5. User authentication is performed for access from the PC 5 to the key information management apparatus 10, the time runs out while a third person is attacking the user authentication to steal the encryption key 17, and the encryption key 17 is deleted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
