Equipment and method for producing plastic containers with a mouth that has a diameter smaller than or equal to the diameter or greater linear dimension of the base, which comprises a rotating circular platform (1) mounted on a base (2) and on which is mounted a plurality of welding stations (4). Each welding station (4) has a fixed base (5), the receptacle part of which accommodates the lower portion of the container, and a movable head (6) that, by means of suction, secures the upper portion of the container by means of at least one mouth (7) connected to a vacuum pump by means of a line (8), and that is linked to the rod of a pneumatic cylinder (9) connected to a programmable logic controller. Adjacent to the circular platform (1) there is mounted at least one station (13) for melting the material constituting the lower and upper portions of the container and at least one robot (15) that makes it possible to position the lower and upper portions of the container at each welding station (4).
