PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problems with a photographing system configured to search the focal position by means of the branching optical system, wherein the autofocus accuracy is deteriorated, when a white balance is taken with a camera having an image sensor, since a color balance difference is made between a branching optical system and an imaging system, and chromatic aberration remains in each of the branching optical system and the imaging system to cause a focal position difference between the respective optical systems. SOLUTION: The camera has the branching optical system to partly branch a luminous flux in an imaging optical system and detect the focusing state of the imaging system by means of the branched luminous flux, and a plurality of channels having sensitivity for a determined wavelength range. The camera is characterized in that focusing processing is changed based on information about a relative intensity ratio between the respective channels of the imaging system.
