PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simpler method of purifying botulinus toxin suited in the purification on an industrial level without requiring a precipitation/centrifuging step. SOLUTION: The method of purifying botulinus toxin comprises a combination of a film filtration method, an anion exchange chromatography, and a cation exchange chromatography. According to this purification method, a large quantity of high safety botulinus toxin can be very simply and effectively prepared in a short time from a culture medium of Clostridium botulinum. Further, elimination of the recovering operation of precipitates in the precipitation method/centrifugal separation enables providing complete automation facilities/in-line facilities of a production line. Furthermore, since no operator intervenes and no toxin solution is exposed to the environment, the security of the work safety health environment of operators, GMP conformity, and asepsis can be improved.
