<p>Disclosed is an operating device which receives operations made to an electronic apparatus by an object such as a finger, wherein the operating device is provided with an object detection unit for setting a detection space in which the object is allowed free access, and detecting whether or not the object is present in the detection space; an operating signal generation unit for generating an operation signal for determining an action of the electronic apparatus according to the result of detection by the object detection unit; and a light illumination unit for illuminating visible light toward the detection space when presence of the object in the detection space has been detected. According to the present configuration, when the finger or other such object enters the detection space, visible light is illuminated toward the detection space, and subsequently, the visible light is illuminated onto the portion of the finger or other such object that has entered the detection space.</p> |
