An energy management system for controlling electric power generated by an electric power generation device which generates electric power using natural energy, and electric power supplied to an electric power load device, wherein the energy management system is provided with a controller which determines a destination to which surplus electricity of the generated electric power is provided, and a storage unit which stores a rule regarding usage of electricity wherein a priority order for a plurality of destination candidates to which the surplus electricity is provided is set. The controller determines the destination to which the surplus electricity of the generated electric power is provided, on the basis of the rule regarding usage of electricity stored in the storage unit and electric power selling price information.
