The unit has a rotatably supported carrier body and a rotor disk (3) that has a cover ring (30) with a suction opening (31) and a radially directed rotor blades (32), which is arranged between the carrier body and the cover ring. The rotor disk comprises a centering collar (33) projecting from the cover ring and arranged in the region of the suction opening. The collar is connected with the cover ring by a bar (34), where diameter of the centering collar is smaller than the diameter of the suction opening. An independent claim is also included for a water pump with an electric motor.
