The plate has a boundary area provided on a side that is turned away from a brake disk, where the plate is mounted in a frame carrier (100). The boundary area is provided with a stage that is displaced to an inner side of the plate. The stage protrudes from the brake disk in a direction and has a pre-determined distance to circumference of the plate. A cross sectional form of the plate is designed in an S-shape from a circumferential area of the backing plate to the stage in a transition zone. An upper surface of the stage is provided parallel to the brake disk. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing the backing plate for the brake lining of the vehicle-disk brake.
