PURPOSE: An electric water pump with an embedded power transmission system is provided to control the size and weight of the water pump regardless of the outer diameter of a pulley. CONSTITUTION: An electric water pump with an embedded power transmission system comprises a shaft(30), a hub(40), and a power transmission system(50). The shaft comprises a pulley and a pump unit. The pulley receives driving power from an internal combustion engine. The pump unit pumps cooling water of a radiator. The hub is installed in the shaft. The hub is coupled to the pulley and the pump unit through a pulley hub and a bearing(25). The power transmission system is embedded in a receiving space formed in one side of the pump unit. The power transmission system transfers the torque from the pulley to the shaft or blocks the torque. |
