On the main frame of the equipment are mounted: a) Means for mounting the ends of the spring. b) Means for applying a prestressing force and test forces to the spring and for varying both. c) Means of measuring the test load applied to the spring in order to check that the load characteristics lie within manufacturing tolerance and d) Means for hydraulic and mechanical systems are used for applying the loads and the measurement of applied forces is carried out using load cells.
